Description

The energy of pendulum is dissipated by the eddy current created by the varying magnetic field in the metal. Eddy current can be avoided by having slits in the metal perpendicular to the motion and the magnetic field.

Equipment

  • Metallic pendulums with and without slits
  • Support
  • Big horseshoe magnet
