Description

A flexible, corrugated plastic tube, hollow on both ends, is spun around in a circle. The air flowing through the tube creates a sound due to standing wave resonance. Also can be called a "whirly tube", a "corrugaphone", or a "bloogle resonator".

Equipment

  • wind tubes

Instructions

Hold the tip of the tube and swing it rapidly in a circle. If you swing it fast enough you will be able to hear the emitted sound. The pitch depends on the length of the tube and its velocity.

Keywords

frequency tube, wind organ pipe
